DR SCOTT VONScott Von is a physician, psychoanalyst, philosopher, and poet. He is founder and director of the New Clinic for Integral Medicine & Psychiatry. He completed his Doctor of Medicine at the American College of TCM with residencies in neurology and psychiatry, and advanced training in acupuncture and homeopathy. He received his PhD in Psychoanalysis from the University of London and did advanced training in Freudian and Lacanian analysis, Orgonomy, and Anthroposophy. As a professor he has taught at NYU, CUNY, Pacific College, Swedish Institute, and other medical and psychoanalytic institutes. He has researched, practiced and taught integral medicine and psychiatry for over 25 years and created the New Clinic as a center for research, training and clinical treatment in advanced medicine.

DR JULIE VONJulie Von is a physician and artist. She is co-director of the New Clinic for Integral Medicine & Psychiatry. She studied philosophy before receiving her medical degree in Oriental Medicine from the Academy of Oriental Medicine with advanced training in acupuncture and herbology. She subsequently completed her Doctor of Medicine at the American College of TCM and Shanghai University with residencies in obstetrics and gynecology. Her doctoral research extended the clinical methods she pioneered at New Clinic in women’s health and advanced natural hormone and fertility treatment – integrating chronobiology, astrophysics, psychosomatics, and family therapy with acupuncture and herbal medicine.

DR. BRADLEY LEWISBradley Lewis is a psychiatrist and psychotherapist. He is associate professor at New York University’s Gallatin School of Individualized Study with affiliated appointments in Psychiatry and Social & Cultural Analysis. He received a Doctor of Medicine specializing in psychiatry and a Doctor of Philosophy in humanities both from George Washington University. His clinical work, teaching, and research are at the interface of medicine, science, humanities, and cultural studies. He is an associate editor for the Journal of Medical Humanites and is the author of ”Moving Beyond Prozac, DSM, and the New Psychiatry: Birth of Postpsychiatry,” “Narrative Psychiatry: How Stories Can Shape Clinical Encounters,” and “Depression: Integrating Science, Humanities, and Culture.” His current research is devoted to happiness, spirituality, and care of the self in postmodern times.

LEAH SHADWICKLeah Shadwick is a clinical acupuncturist and herbalist from New York City. She received a BA in communication from SUNY Albany and worked as a fashion consultant in New York before her own experience inspired her to study integrative medicine. She received her Oriental Medicine degree at the AOMA Graduate School of Integrative Medicine. During her training she traveled to Chengdu, China to study and embrace Traditional Chinese Medicine theories and culture while pursuing her love for Chinese herbology. While there she successfully completed the International Traditional Chinese Medicine program in Chinese Herbal Medicine and Acupuncture. During her studies at AOMA she interned at South Austin Community Acupuncture clinic where she developed her skills with an extensive herbal pharmacy. She has also interned with Dr Julie Von in integrative obstetrics and gynecology. Leah is dedicated to pursuing new ways to promote health and wellness through the deeper meaning behind illness and the integration of fitness, food, meditation, dance, music, art.

SHANNON PIERCY-ALVAREZShannon Piercy-Alvarez is a somatic and massage therapist. She has been studying and practicing massage, bodywork and integral somatic therapies for over a decade. After receiving her degree in literature and dance at Indiana University, she studied at the Utah College of Massage Therapy and Pacific College becoming licensed in New York. As a dancer she has performed and taught anatomy, kinesiology, improvisation and modern dance. As a massage therapist she integrates traditional Eastern acupressure and shiatsu with modern Western structural and neuromuscular techniques, and also specializes in rehabilitation and prenatal massage. Her integral somatic therapy practice also includes her training in reiki, yoga, and meditation. She is currently completing her Oriental Medicine degree at Pacific College and has studied integral psychosomatic medicine with Dr Scott Von for many years.

LEXY NORINDRAlexandra Norindr is a clinical acupuncturist, yoga teacher, and designer. She trained in Oriental Medicine and Acupuncture at Pacific College of Oriental Medicine and Tri-State College of Acupuncture developing an integral approach to medicine and acupuncture under the guidance of Scott Von at New Clinic – integrating classical Chinese medicine and Indian vedic yoga with modern bioenergetic acupuncture, homeopathy, TCM, and Kampo. She studied graphic design at the School of Visual Arts and has served for many years as art director for Kamwo Herbal Pharmacy and Meridian Herbal Products.
